Abington Wind Band celebrates 50 years!

Based in the heart of Northamptonshire, UK, Abington Wind Band is a vibrant and welcoming amateur ensemble dedicated to the joy of making music together. We are a mixed-ability band, comprised of a diverse range of woodwind and brass instruments, complemented by electric bass and percussion, creating a rich and dynamic sound.

Since 2021, we have been under the enthusiastic leadership of our Musical Director, Christopher Music. His passion and expertise have inspired us to explore a wide variety of musical styles and continue to grow as musicians.

At Abington Wind Band, we pride ourselves on our friendly and supportive atmosphere. Our practice sessions are relaxed and fun, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared enjoyment. We believe that music should be accessible to everyone, and we strive to create a welcoming environment for musicians of all levels.

Abington Wind Band is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year in 2025. To commemorate this milestone we performed a 50th Anniversary Gala Concert where we played iconic pieces that have defined our sound as a band. We also had the incredible honour of welcoming back some of our previous conductors to once again take the baton and lead us through some of their most favourite musical pieces.
